William Gray's Aberdeen (Aberdeenshire) copper farthing token dated 1838. Obverse: Legend on six lines, the top and bottom curved: “PAYABLE AT WM GRAY’S TEA DEALER GREEN ABERDEEN”. Reverse: Chinese man sitting on packing case between tea canisters with legend: “TEAS AS IMPORTED 1838”. Bell Plate Coin. Ex-Neil Beaton, ex-R. C. Bell Collections, comes with his envelope. Nice collectable condition for type on a thick flan, cleaned in the past and now toning out, see photograph.
