John Davidson's Newcastle (Northumberland) farthing token, undated. Obverse legend on six lines: “JOHN DAVIDSON TOBACCONIST HEAD OF THE SIDE NEWCASTLE”. Reverse: A tobacco plant in bloom. Diagonally milled edge (\\\\\). John Davidson was a tobacconist with a business in Newcastle. He is mentioned in Holden's Directory of 1809-11 and again at number 62 Side in 1828-29. Ex-R.
