Jasper Eve's Springfield (Essex) halfpenny token dated 1669. Obverse: Adam with Eve taking apple from snake in apple tree with legend: "* IASPER * EVE * OF * 1669". Reverse: Legend around periphery and on three lines in centre: "* SPRINGFIELD * IN * ESSEX". This was the only 17th Century token issued for Springfield in Essex.
