Scarce Edward Stephens' Dublin (Dublin) copper penny token dated 1816. Obverse: Draped bust of the Duke of Wellington to the left: “WELLINGTON & ERIN GO BRAGH”. Reverse: Crowned Irish harp in centre with legend: “EDWD STEPHENS 1816”. Centre grained edge (/////). Listed in Paul & Bente Withers' “British Copper Tokens 1811-1820” as “SCARCE”. Edward Stephens owned the large Merchant Stores at 35 James's Street, Dublin. Good collectable condition, see photograph.
