John Elliotts Newcastle (Northumberland) copper farthing token dated 1814. Obverse legend: JOHN ELLIOTT 1814 TOBACCONIST QUAY-SIDE NEWCASTLE. Reverse: A tobacco plant in bloom: “GENUINE * TOBACCO & SNUFF *”. Plain edge. John Elliott was a tobacconist with a business in Newcastle however he is not mentioned in the business directory of 1809-11. Good collectable condition, see photograph.
