Counterfeit Isle of Man Penny 1758

Contemporary counterfeit Isle of Man penny dated 1758 in the name of James Murray, second Duke of Atholl, the new owner of the island. Obverse: crowned “AD” monogram (Atholl Dux) over the date. Reverse: Triskeles with large caps of armour on the knees: “QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT” (which ever way you throw it, it will stand). Fairly crude workmanship but in reasonable collectable condition for type, see photograph.
