Charles I (1625-1649) silver two shillings, fourth coinage (1642). Obverse: Crowned bust to left with large "II" behind the head indicating denomination. Legend: "CAR D G SCOT ANG FRAN & HIB R" (Charles by the grace of God King of Scotland England France and Ireland). Reverse: Crown over lion rampant. Legend: "IVST THRONVM FIRMAT" (Justice strengthens the throne). Ex-Lingford Collection, bought Baldwin's 16th January 1902, comes with original neat old collector's ticket.
