Alexander III Penny Class "D1/E" Mule Perth Mint

Alexander III (1249-1286), silver penny, second coinage, less common class D1/E mule with barred "A", mint mark Cross Potent. Two mullets of six points and two stars of seven giving a total of twenty-six points thus indicating a supposed mint town of Perth. Good collectable condition with very small striking crack at 10 o'clock and slightly uneven colour, see photograph.
