George I (1714-1727) silver SSC shilling dated 1723, second bust. SSC denotes that this coin was made from silver supplied by the South Sea Company, a joint stock offering in the first quarter of the 18^th century which eventually went bust resulting in major financial losses for those investors who did not sell out in time (sounds familiar!). Reasonable collectable condition, see photograph.
