Anne Vigo Shilling 1703

Anne (1702-1714) silver Vigo shilling, plain angles on reverse, dated 1703 before the Union of Parliaments with Scotland. These were struck from the melted-down bullion captured by the British fleet from the French and Spanish after the major sea battle fought off the Portuguese town of Vigo in 1702. Nice collectable condition with a little light flecking on reverse, see photograph.
