Edward I (1272-1307) silver hammered penny, York mint, Archbishop's Ecclesiastical Issue, class 9b1 with closed "C" and unbarred "N"s. Obverse: Facing bust: "EDW R ANL DNS hyB". Reverse: Long cross with three pellets in each quarter and quatrefoil in centre: "CIVI TAS EBO RACI" . Nice collectable condition with strong portrait and a little staining on the reverse, possibly cleaned in the past, see photograph. Spink No: S.1430 (variety of). Diameter 18mm.
