Keeling's Gibraltar copper two quartos dated 1810, small date. Obverse: Nice view of lion seated to left with paw on city key: “PAYABLE AT ROBERT KEELING & SONS. GIBRALTAR”. Reverse: Three turreted castle and portcullis with date below: “VALUE TWO QUARTOS 1810”. These were issued by Robert Keeling, a local merchant, in an attempt to alleviate the local shortage of small denomination currency. Twenty-four quarts made up one real.
