Christopher and Jennett Stockton (County Durham) silver shilling token dated 1812. Obverse: Legend on four lines: “CHRISTOPHER AND JENNETT + SILVER TOKEN 1 SHILLG.”. Reverse: Town Arms of Stockton consisting of a castle gateway over an anchor with legend: “STOCKTON 1812”. Diagonally milled edge (//////). Robert Christopher was a top local printer who was joined in his business by Thomas Jennett who had impressed him during his employment as an apprentice. Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
