John Wilkinson's (Warwickshire) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1793. Obverse: Bust of John Wilkinson with his name misspelt and legend: IOHN WILKISON IRON MASTER. Reverse: Vulcan seated hammering on anvil behind which is a ship and legend: HALFPENNY 1793. Edge inscription: PAYABLE IN ANGLESEY LONDON OR LIVERPOOL with retrograde “Ns. The Wilkinson Series was wrongly attributed by Dalton & Hamer to Warwickshire and should have been included in the Shropshire section.
