Scarce Chichester (Sussex) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1795. Obverse: Three-quarter facing bust of Queen Elizabeth I with crown and sceptre: “QUEEN ELIZABETH”. Reverse: Britannia leaning on shield holding spear: “RULE BRITANNIA”. Edge inscription: “WE PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ONE CENT”. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as “SCARCE”. Unusual token in lovely collectable condition, see photograph.
