Prince of Wales Brighton Army Camp Halfpenny 1794

Brighton Army Camp (Sussex) Conder halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Bust of the Prince of Wales facing right with legend: “GEORGE PRINCE OF WALES.”. Reverse: The Price of Wales’ crest of three plumes with his motto “ICH DIEN” on banner and legend: “HALFPENNY 1794”. Edge inscription: “BRIGHTON CAMP HALFPENNY MDCCXCIV X.X.”. During the war with France there was established a military camp at Brighton for which this coin was issued. Ex-Gahlin Collection. Nice collectable condition for type, see photograph.
