Dunham & Yallop's Goldsmith Norwich (Norfolk) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1792. Obverse: The coat of arms of Norwich consisting of a three turreted gateway over a lion with raised paw, crowned, with sword and mace in saltire behind with legend: SUCCESS TO THE CITY OF NORWICH. Reverse: Old fashioned shop front with two windows and a glass door between them over which is a large circular sign showing a bird with wings extended. Above the door is written DUNHAM & YALLOP and beneath the fanlight is TEAS. The entire design is enclosed within a circle of leaves with legend: NORWICH HALFPENNY 1792. Edge inscription: PAYABLE AT THE SHOP OF DUNHAM & YALLOP GOLD-SMITHS. Dunham & Yallop were goldsmiths and jewellers with premises in the market place in Norwich. Ex-Neil Beaton Collection.
