Social Series London (Middlesex) copper Anti-Slavery Conder halfpenny token undated. Obverse: A chained African kneeling with hands clasped and raised in supplication with legend: “AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER”. Reverse: Two hands joined in friendship with legend: “MAY SLAVERY & OPPRESSION CEASE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT DUBLIN CORK OR BELFAST.”. Reasonable collectable condition with heavy scratches on obverse, see photograph.
