Unlisted Skidmore’s London (Middlesex ) white metal Conder mule halfpenny token dated 1795 and 1792. Obverse: Two men hammering on an anvil beside an open forge: "MANUFACTORY . & . IRON – FOUNDRY . CLERKENWELL . 1795". Reverse: Street view (of Bedale) with date below: "1792". Diagonally milled edge. John Skidmore ran an iron foundry at 15 Coppice Row, Clerkenwell and was stovegrate maker to His Majesty's Board of Ordnance. His son, Peter was later responsible for the issue of many tokens including the series on London churches. Unlisted in Dalton & Hamer in white metal. Good collectable condition with heavy bag marks, see photograph.
