Rare Shackelton’s Candle-Maker London Halfpenny 1794

Rare Shackelton’s London (Middlesex) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: The Royal Coat of Arms and Crest: “FRANCIS SHACKELTON LONDON”. Reverse: A candle mould: “FINE MOULD AND STORE CANDLES 1794”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE IN DUBLIN OR LONDON .+.”. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as “R - RARE”. Francis Shackelton was the tallow-maker to the Duke of York and had a business at 12 Little Suffolk Street, Haymarket, London. Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
