Scarce Rupert Street, London (Middlesex) copper Conder halfpenny token undated. Obverse: Arms, supporters and crest of the Curriers' Company: "HALFPENNY". Reverse: A plough with a banner above reading: "GOD SPEED THE PLOUGH", with legend below: "PAYABLE IN RUPERT STREET ST. JAMES's". Edge inscription: "BIRMINGHAM REDRUTH & SWANSEA". . It is not known who the issuer was. Currying was the final preparation in curing leather. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as: "SCARCE". Ex-Neil Beaton Collection. Nice collectable condition, a little off-centre, see photograph.
