Ibberson’s London (Middlesex) White Metal Conder halfpenny token undated. Obverse: St George fighting the dragon with a fat boar crest above: "HOLBORN LONDON G. JBBERSON". Reverse: Legend on four lines encircled by crossed laurel branches: "MAIL & POST COACHES TO ALL PARTS OF ENGLAND". Plain edge. These later issues were struck by Taylor of Holborn, London in the 1870's. Christopher Ibberson was the proprietor of this famous old hostelry in High Holborn in the West End of London. It was originally just called the "Blue Boar" and was the a terminus for many of the stage coaches to the north. Nice collectable condition with a small stain on obverse, see photograph.
