Christ’s Hospital London (Middlesex) Conder hexagonal sixpence token undated. Obverse: Value on two lines: “SIX PENCE”. Reverse: Monogram: “CH”. Plain edge. Christ's Hospital was created by Edward VI for the education and maintenance of the young and helpless. These tokens were issued as private currency for the scholars, and were spent at privileged tradesmen's shops. Nice collectable condition for type with a few spots of old verdegris, see photograph.
