Rare Archibald's Seedsmen Edinburgh Halfpenny 1796

Archibald’s Edinburgh (Lothian) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1796. Obverse: Shield of arms of the Archibald Family consisting of stars and crescents with a palm branch crest and date either side: "DITAT. SERVATA FIDES. * JOS. ARCHIBALD. SEEDSMAN. EDIN. 1796". Reverse: Text on five lines: "SELLS GARDEN, GRASS & FLOWER SEEDS, FRUIT TREES &c. &c. &c". Edge inscription: "PAYABLE AT THE SHOP OF JOSEPH ARCHIBALD *** ***". Listed in Dalton & Hamer as: "RARE". Ex-F. S. Cokayne Collection, comes with his original ticket. Good collectable condition for type, see photograph.
