Very Rare Liverpool Ship & Shield Halfpenny 1791

Very rare Liverpool (Lancashire) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1791. Obverse: Man of war in full sail to right: “LIVERPOOL HALFPENNY”. Reverse: Cormorant in shield surmounted by another, both holding seaweed in beaks, with bulrushes either side: “DEUS NOBIS HÆC OTIA FECIT 1791”. Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT LONDON OR ANGLESEA”. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as “VERY RARE”. Ex-Neil Beaton Collection. Reasonable collectable condition for type, see photograph.
