Scarce Cloake's Tenterden (Kent) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1796. Obverse: Arms of the Brewers’ Company: “TENTERDEN HALFPENNY 1796”. Reverse: A horse and cart laden with beer barrels outside a brewery: “TO CHEER OUR HEARTS”. (I like the sentiment!). Edge inscription: “PAYABLE AT I & T CLOAKES BREWHOUSE. X X *”. Listed in Bell’s “Commercial Coins 1787-1804” as "SCARCE". Nice collectable condition, see photograph.
