Scarce Warley Army Camp (Essex) Conder halfpenny token dated 1794. Obverse: Bust of the Prince of Wales facing right: “GEORGE PRINCE OF WALES.”. Reverse: The Price of Wales’ crest of three plumes with his motto: “ICH DIEN” on banner and legend: “HALFPENNY 1794”. Edge inscription: “WARLEY CAMP HALFPENNY MDCCXCIV .X.X.X.”. During the war with France a military camp was established at Warley, for which this coin was issued. Listed in Dalton & Hamer as “SCARCE”.
