Scarce David Hood's King's College Penny 1796

Scarce David Hood's Cambridge (Cambridgeshire) copper Conder penny token dated 1796. Obverse: Detailed view of a Gothic building with legend: “KING'S COLL CHAPEL TO THE HEADS & STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE”. Reverse: Detailed view of a Georgian building with legend: “WEST FRONT OF THE NEW BUILDING KINGS COLL - THIS MEDAL IS HUMBLY INSCRIBED BY THEIR OBEDIENT HUMBLE SERT D. HOOD. 1796”. Plain edge. Listed in Bell's “Tradesmen's Tickets and Private Tokens 1785-1819” as “SCARCE ”.  David Hood had a business offering a variety of wares and services in Cambridge.
