Barbados Sir Phillip Gibb's Slave Penny 1792

Copper penny token dated 1792. Obverse: Native head with crown and three ostrich plumes: “I SERVE”. Reverse: Two seahorses pulling a robed and crowned George III seated in a sea chariot with paddle wheels: “BARBADOES PENNY 1792”. These “Neptune” coins were issued by Sir Phillip Gibbs, a local plantation owner. Mintage only 39,000. Lovely collectible collectable condition, see photograph.
