Obverse: Legend on four lines in centre and around periphery: "THROUGHOUT NORTH OF ENGLAND & SCOTLAND * 75 OVERGATE DUNDEE 1876". Reverse: Legend on five lines in centre and around periphery: "THE LONDON & NEWCASTLE TEA COMPANY'S * ¼lb CHECK NOT TRANSFERABLE J. A. Game ARDILL. LEEDS". Straight milled edge. This variety unlisted in Andison. Good collectable condition with uneven colour and striking flaw, see photograph.
